Due to the coronavirus, many employees are currently working from home. This may seem like a luxury at first, but it comes with its own challenges – especially if you also have to look after children at home. We have collected the most important tip to help you organise your time in the home office for online betting as efficiently as possible.
The novel coronavirus Sars-CoV-2 continues to spread in Germany and public life has largely come to a standstill. The virus only triggers threatening symptoms in relatively few people. But to ensure that our healthcare system can help these people and anyone else who needs medical treatment, we need to slow down the spread of the virus. It is at least as important now as washing your hands and observing general hygiene rules: Keep your distance, reduce personal contacts as much as possible and stay away from events. This is why many companies have now sent their employees to work from home.
t3n.de has published a very detailed, helpful and free downloadable ‘Corona Home Office Guide’. We have also been inspired by it.
The key: Self-organisation
When working from home, the fixed structures that you are used to in the office are often no longer available and direct communication with colleagues is also sometimes not possible. It is therefore helpful to organise your day well.
Tips:
Create a fixed schedule: Determine when you start work, when you take breaks, eat lunch and when you finish work. Communicate your schedule with your family, flatmates or whoever else might disturb you.
Plan the content of your day: define your goals and create a daily schedule: What tasks are on the agenda, what is important, what is less important, what do you want or need to get done today, what do you do first and what later? The Eisenhower principle or the Pareto principle can help you prioritise.

Stay in contact: It’s important to communicate regularly with your colleagues, especially when you can’t quickly shout something across your desk. Explain transparently what you are currently working on. Discuss topics that affect several people. Don’t hesitate to ask questions. Communicate when you are working and when you are not:
A simple ‘Good morning’, ‘I’m taking a break’ and ‘Have a nice evening’ already creates a lot of transparency. There are many practical tools that help with communication while working from home, more on this below.
Virtual meetings: If you can’t meet in person, you can at least try to chat to colleagues virtually – and not just about work. Why not arrange a virtual lunch, coffee, yoga or after-work beer together? It’s easy with video chat tools or Messenger.
Bikram yoga does away with spiritual practice.
Fixed breaks during which you can relax are also important when working from home.
Plan breaks: If you work all by yourself, it’s easy to forget the time. Very important to stay productive: Schedule breaks! Breaks in which you actually move away from your desk and switch off for a moment. Make sure you take a proper lunch break during which you eat something – and not in front of the computer. Ideally, you should also go for a short walk (at least as long as there is no complete curfew) to get some fresh air and exercise.
Get moving!
People who work from home often get less exercise because they no longer have to travel to work. The fact that gyms and sports clubs are now closed doesn’t make it any easier. In addition, there is often a lack of ergonomic office equipment in the home office. In the long term, a lack of exercise and sitting for too long can lead to unpleasant health consequences. This doesn’t have to be the case. t3n.de quotes health scientist Maria Schumann: ‘From my point of view, there are numerous opportunities here in the home office: The commute to work is eliminated, so we could use the time gained to do a little morning workout.’ Read more: Early morning exercise: 8 reasons for a morning workout
