The availability of intercity bus services between NYC and DC has transformed how people plan their weekends or national park visits. They worry less about not finding tickets or preferred traveling schedules because of the constantly growing number of buses. Since many of these buses also operate from easy-to-reach or prime localities, it’s convenient to board them. They remove the hassle of long waits, queues, security checks, etc. You can rely on the bus services platform to give you a quick sneak peek at all the options in one place and the convenience of booking tickets. So, do you want to visit national parks in DC?

A New York to DC bus can help fulfill your ultimate travel goal by transferring you safely to your destination, where you can begin your national park exploration. If you have yet to decide on your list of parks in and around DC, here are a few suggestions.

    • National parks in Washington, DC

Very few people know that the city of museums and monuments is also rich in national parks. Some of these are part of the National Park Service but are not officially designated as such. However, these hidden gems deserve at least one visit.

    • Rock Creek Park

It is the third officially recognized national park in the country. It obtained the status of a national park in 1890. The park’s quietness and serenity can infuse a sense of peace in your mind. You can choose to bike, hike, golf, or play tennis. You can enter this park without a pass.

    • Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens

You have to be here if you are a plant lover. In this national park, you can explore water lilies, hyacinths, lotuses, and other aquatic plants. You get a new experience during every visit. It also introduces you to different bird species. The park remains open daily, except on a few holidays, such as New Year’s Day, Christmas, and Thanksgiving.

    • Theodore Roosevelt Island

If you have extra time, consider traveling 2.9 miles from Washington, DC. This beautiful national park is named after America’s 26th President. In the 1930s, an abandoned farmland was turned into Theodore Roosevelt Island. You can come here to enjoy a rendezvous with nature.

    • The National Mall & Memorial Parks

You must be aware of this attraction already. It is spread over 140+ acres in the city center. Visit this place to explore the Washington Monument, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, and other iconic sites. For the best experience, you can tour this park early in the morning or late in the evening.

After your goal is fulfilled, you can board a bus back to your city. As you travel away from the capital city’s charm, the memory of your mini vacation will leave you feeling nostalgic. You can start planning your next trip. After all, it’s just about a five-hour journey from New York City. There is much to see and enjoy in DC; you can rely on these buses to reduce travel expenses. Plus, it doesn’t require year-long planning. You can make immediate plans and put them into action.
